The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a spell of intense summer heat, with temperatures in some inland areas anticipated to soar up to 48°C in the coming days. The National Centre of Meteorology has forecasted generally stable weather conditions across the nation, characterized by mostly clear skies and light to moderate winds, with little likelihood of significant weather disturbances.
Friday will see inland temperatures ranging from 44°C to 48°C, while coastal and island areas can expect highs between 36°C and 43°C. In mountainous regions, temperatures are predicted to vary from 32°C to 39°C. Winds are expected to blow from the southwest to northwest at speeds of 10 to 20 kph, occasionally increasing to 30 kph. Meanwhile, sea conditions are likely to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
This pattern of hot and clear weather is expected to persist through the weekend. On Saturday morning, low clouds might appear over parts of the eastern coast, and winds could strengthen intermittently, reaching speeds of up to 40 kph. A slight dip in temperatures is anticipated on Sunday as northwesterly winds gain momentum, which may result in rough conditions in the Arabian Gulf, though the Sea of Oman should remain slight to moderate.
For Monday and Tuesday, similar weather conditions are expected to prevail, with mostly fair skies and occasional morning clouds along the eastern coast. There will also be periods of fresh winds. Sea conditions are projected to gradually improve as the week progresses.
Meteorologists indicate that the UAE is entering a typical early-summer phase, marked by extremely high daytime temperatures, clear skies, and generally stable atmospheric conditions. This period of intense heat serves as a reminder of the region’s harsh summer climate.
