On Wednesday morning, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. He was joined by senior leaders, officials, and worshippers, marking the commencement of the significant religious festival. After the prayers, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with those present, celebrating the spirit of the occasion.
The Eid sermon, delivered by Dr. Omar Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, highlighted the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He commended the UAE leadership for their efforts in bolstering the nation through unity and dedication to national interests. Accompanying Sheikh Mohamed were prominent UAE leaders including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed.
In a tribute to the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohamed and the worshippers recited Al Fatiha. Across the Emirates, similar scenes unfolded as rulers and senior leaders joined citizens and residents in performing Eid prayers at major mosques, underscoring the shared spirit of celebration.
In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi participated in the prayers at Sharjah Mosque. Meanwhile, in Ajman, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi performed Eid prayers at Al Zaher Palace Mosque, and in Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi attended prayers at Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
Furthermore, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Umm Al Quwain, and Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined worshippers at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque in Ras Al Khaimah. These gatherings across the UAE marked the beginning of the Eid Al Adha celebrations, bringing together thousands of people at mosques nationwide in a display of unity and devotion.
