In its statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to prioritize the enforcement of United Nations Security Council resolutions related to Yemen and the safeguarding of maritime security in the Red Sea. The ministry specifically emphasized the importance of Resolution 2216, which pertains to the situation in Yemen, and Resolution 2722, which focuses on the protection of navigation rights and the freedom of movement in the critical waterway of the Red Sea.
The UAE highlighted that international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, guarantees freedom of navigation in international waters.
